Tattoos - Frequently Asked Questions
Casey gets lots of questions about tattoos, piercings and all of the services he provides. Below you’ll find the most frequently asked questions he receives at the shop.
Does it hurt?
Yes. Needles going in and out of your body hurt. Depending on your personal pain tolerance, Casey suggests that you “try” something small or localized if this is your first time to modify your body. Then you’ll have a better understanding of how you’ll tolerate this particular kind of pain. However, if you’re ready to dive in, the pain is temporary - your tattoo is forever.
My friend got a butterfly/Snoopy/Yosemite Sam, and I want what they got!
That’s fine – come on in, and bring your friend, or a picture of your friend. You might make sure your friend is ok with you copying their tattoo; if it’s a generic tattoo, like Yosemite Sam, then they’re probably going to be alright with you having it too. But if you’re attempting to copy a friend’s highly personalized and custom artwork, Casey will assist you in creating a version that’s all your own. Copying another artist’s custom artwork is simply not good business.
Can I make this design smaller/bigger?
In most cases, the answer is yes. It is best that you bring in a high-quality picture, or you can bring him a high resolution image on a disk to use; the process will take longer without a good quality image to start with. Detail may be lost as well, if you want the design made too small, or too large.
How old do I have to be to get a tattoo/piercing?
In the state of Texas, you are required to be at least 18 to receive your first piece of art on your body. For a piercing, you must be at least 16, unless you have a parent or guardian with you, or you’ve filled out our parental consent forms.
Can I pay you with a personal check?
Currently, we accept American Express, Discover, MasterCard, VISA, Debit Cards and Travelers Checks.
Can I bring in a friend with me?
Absolutely – whatever will make you feel comfortable. You need to make sure they’re going to be ok with watching, though. They might see blood, needles in skin, etc.
